“Forgiveness” is a digital photomanipulaton created in Adobe Photoshop, with a painterly edition to make it look more organic and expressive.
forgive /fəˈɡɪv/ verb
“If there’s something to pardon in everything, there is something to condemn”.
Friedrich Nietzsche.
As with most of my body of work, my images tell stories that can happen to anyone. They talk about pure concepts and emotions. When I create something, I am probably feeling that way. Thre’s no exception with “Forgiveness”: I was able to finish this emotional illustration after a long grudge. Forgiving someone is forgiving you first for the rage and hate you felt. It’s something growing inside of you. I depicted that as a tree, and I set it in flames as a symbol of getting rid of what was hurting you, allowing you to go on with your life. On the other hand, you can see this illustration as the total opposite: the person being forgiven, with the tree standing as a metaphor of the mistake, finally burning.
“Forgiveness” is epic, emotional and is all about redemption and love, for one self, and for everyone else. It offers and iconic composition full of color and passion, but at the same time, its static nature suggest peace after an emotional war. It shows such a wide ride of feelings that it is perfect for any kind of space, turning it into a bold emotional experience.
Already in use for “Ensnared”. However, you can still browse my collection of available artworks if you’re looking to license a similar image.
Being a freelance, independent artist is very fun, but sometimes it feels lonely out there. With ever evolving social media platforms getting bigger and making things more and more complicated for indie artists to reach our audience, our best bet is to build loyalty with our fans and customers by bringing them to our own platforms, so our news don’t get lost between the noise. My newsletter is free, spam-free and privacy policy compliant. I will only send you the important bits, and you can unsubscribe at any given time. Want to come along for the ride?
