Evolved Sound and Captivating Artwork: Rainover Unveils “NOX” Album

Rainover, one of the key gothic metal bands in Spain, is set to release their highly anticipated sophomore album titled “NOX” on June 21st 2023 in digital, with a planned physical release for July 7th. The album showcases a remarkable evolution in the band’s sound and features captivating vocal lines that will leave listeners spellbound. However, the magic doesn’t stop with the music alone; it extends to the stunning album artwork and packaging that features a fully illustrated 32-pages booklet, masterfully crafted by acclaimed artist and designer Mario Nevado, who already worked in the band’s debut “Trascending the Blue and drifting into Rebirth”.

Rainover’s “NOX” album showcases the band’s growth and maturity, both musically and lyrically. The hauntingly beautiful vocal lines, delivered by their talented lead vocalist Andrea Casanova, capture raw emotions and explore themes of introspection, self-discovery, and the complexities of the human experience. The lyrics delve into the profound depths of the soul, inviting listeners to embark on an introspective voyage alongside the band.

Correspondingly, NOX (latin word for “night”, and name of a classical nocturnal feminine deity) is about an upcoming dark era for humans, who have turned their backs to their own nature –an eternal night on Earth after nature’s powers have been destabilized. NOX is also a story of human greed and thirst of power – but also one of empowerment through self-realisation. NOX is a wake-up call – a summoning of many entities and emotions, told through magical and mystical resources, and then put into one single record where these stories unfold.

On the other hand, as the art director and designer of Rainover’s “NOX”, Mario Nevado has skillfully captured the essence of the band’s musical journey and created a visual masterpiece that perfectly complements their evolving sound. The cover art and full packaging reveal a world of enigmatic mysteries waiting to be unveiled, setting the stage for a captivating listening experience that transcends mere auditory pleasure.

With Nevado’s visionary approach and meticulous attention to detail, the album artwork for “NOX” marks a significant milestone in his career as a cover artist. Through a harmonious fusion of aesthetics, symbolism, and the band’s artistic vision, the artwork takes listeners on a journey beyond the realms of music, immersing them in a realm of darkness, beauty, and intrigue.

Rainover’s “NOX” album, coupled with the breathtaking artwork by Mario Nevado, is an artistic triumph that showcases the band’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of gothic metal. From the haunting melodies to the intricately woven lyrical narratives, this album is destined to captivate audiences worldwide.

As of now, two singles have dropped from the long-awaited album: “Lobo” and “Lumina Omnia”, featuring worldwide-acclaimed and legendary Swedish gothic metal vocalist Anders Jacobsson from Draconian.
