Adobe Photoshop Tutorial: Create a Twisted Fairytale

Adobe Photoshop CS6 was just released, so I couldn’t wait to put my hand into it! While I am very critic in new Adobe releases, this was not the case! The new dark interface, similar to the one you can find in later release of Adobe Lightroom, is very well thought-out and way more comfortable than the previous interface in CS5. In fact, I have been unable to keep on working on CS5 after feeling so comfy with the dark one in CS6.

The new Tools also have came in very handy, specially for me the new Blur Gallery options (Tilt-Shift and Blur Field), very useful to render authentic depth of field. Also the Content-Aware options, available for many tools such as the Patch, allows you to clone and restore almost any kind of material in just a few clicks.

It also has an auto-recovery option in case the software crashes (a thing that have just happened to me once in more than two months that I’ve been using it.. so far for the 2/3 crashes per week I used to have with Photoshop CS5). Also, the background save feature is a real time-saver, allowing you to keep on working while the file saves. For people like me who doesn’t have strong computers, this is a lifesaver, so now I don’t have to wait around 10 minutes everytime I want to save! That makes me really, really happy 😛

I will cover all these aspect in this Photoshop CS6 Tutorial.

After this introduction, the guys at PSD Tuts+ asked me to create a brand new photomanipulation work using some of the new features of Adobe Photoshop CS6. If you are new to this powerful tool, you might be very interested in putting your hands over this tutorial, in which I explain in depth the new Blurs options, Content Aware, Adaptive Wide Angle and other interesting but obscured features of CS5 such as Puppet Warp.

Obviously, this photomanipulation tutorial also takes a focus on masking items, color correction, realistic lighting, atmospheres and blending between elements.

You can access this premium and exclusive in-dpeth tutorial, featuring more than 300 screenshots from the proccess during around 60 detailed steps by getting a premium access over at Tuts Plus.
