Shelter: Emotional Digital Art

Another digital illustration conceived form the photo session I had with Cristina Martin (such an inspiration!). Since I created my work “Medea” for the exhibition “Arkhaía” with Hysterical Minds (also featuring Cristina), I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of duality. That drew me to work again with elemental iconography such as fire and water, to depict the contradiction of having opposite feelings in the same state of mind. I have not been able to develop the idea further yet, in terms of being able to put what I think into words, and therefore I’m creating some more illustrations based on these ideas. I hope to be able to develop a consistent manifesto about this, both visually and textually, but we’ll have to wait 🙂

Mario is a digital artist and art director that explores the depths of dark surrealism to deliver shocking cover visuals for bands, writers and filmmakers around the world. He's also a passionate instructor of color theory and image composition. In his free time, he sings and makes noise in his musical project, Nevado.

I like the ‘duality’ aspect. Can’t wait to see where you go with the idea. Great image! I just love your art!
