Big Brother: Collaboration with Liran Szeiman
“Big Brother” is a political, pop surrealism / lowbrow illustration I created for the new exhibition of the international artistic collective Hysterical Minds: They are among Us. I’m so pleased to announce that this is my first collaboration with the talented illustrator Liran Szeiman, who is also my comrade on the management of the collective. The piece is a mixture of digital painting and photo manipulation.
The piece is based on “1984” by George Orwell, but it makes a new twist featuring the social media networks such as Facebook or Twitter as the new beholders of our lifes, and how we are getting nude and blind while we are developing our private lifes inside of them. We think that our privacy issues are going way too far, but we are supporting that somehow. We think we are capable to know everything about everyone, but sometimes we forget that everyone is capable to know everything about us…
